Festivals

Throughout the year we celebrate many joyous festivals. Perhaps the most well known is Rathayatra. Also known as the Festival of the Chariots, it is held every year on the first Sunday in August. As a small child, Srila Prabhupada celebrated this festival in his neighborhood with his own home-made chariot, copying the annual Rathayatra held for centuries in Jagannatha Puri, India. We have been presenting this same, ecstatic program at Venice Beach since 1976. 

Srila Prabhupada always said a celebration is never complete without a sumptuous vegetarian banquet offered to Lord Krishna. You are always welcome to join us chanting Hare Krishna, dancing and feasting. There is never any obligation, and you will certainly feel the bliss!
